The Role

As a Sr. Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, deploying, and managing scalable and secure cloud environments in AWS and Azure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for staying abreast of industry trends.

Responsibilities:

1. Cloud Infrastructure Design and Implementation:

  • Architect, design, and implement cloud infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate cloud services into overall system architecture.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for enhancements.

2. Automation and Orchestration:

  • Develop and implement automation scripts for provisioning, configuration, and deployment of cloud resources.
  • Implement orchestration tools to streamline and optimize cloud workflows.

4. Technical Expertise:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in cloud engineering, providing guidance on best practices and industry standards.
  • Obtain/maintain the customer-focused, professional and technical skill sets needed to support the businesses current support as well as the implementation of any new initiatives/solutions that the company pursues.
  • Monitor the performance of cloud infrastructure and applications, identifying areas for optimization.
  • Implement strategies to enhance scalability, reliability, and efficiency of cloud solutions.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of open communication, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and resolution of technical issues.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Services is highly preferred.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in Systems or Cloud Engineering.
  • 3+ years of AWS and/or Azure/M365 experience.
  • Senior level technical and networking skills are required.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Senior level knowledge of M365 to include Intune and Autopilot.
  • Senior level knowledge of AWS and Microsoft Azure architectures.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Senior knowledge of cloud platforms, virtualization technologies, and containerization.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively.
  • Works independently, problem-solves, takes initiative, sets priorities, handles multiple projects, and exercises good judgment in a fast paced, dynamic, deadline driven environment in an organized and professional manner
  • Demonstrates attention to accuracy, detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties
  • Maintains confidentiality and handles confidential and sensitive information in an appropriate manner.
